About the Author

Dr. Thurber is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been a primary care physician for over thirty years. He did his undergraduate work at Colgate University, medical school at Cornell University, and residency training at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the Maine Medical Center. He has a Master's degree in Religious Studies (with concentration in Clinical Ethics) from the University of Virginia. There he taught clinical medicine and biomedical ethics in the School of Medicine for eight years. Currently he lives in Buxton, Maine with his wife, Marilyn, and three mini-schnauzers.
